About this place
At lunchtime, choose between the Irodori Box Set, which brings together a little of several seasonal dishes, and a heartier rice bowl or set meal. The Irodori Box Set includes six kinds of seasonal items, such as sashimi, obanzai (small home-style side dishes) and fried foods. It suits anyone keen to sample a variety of dishes in smaller portions. Diners who have ordered it more than once have also said that the serving is generous enough to leave them full.
For a more substantial meal, options include the signature chicken tempura rice bowl and the hearty seafood bowl. Set meals range from fried young chicken to thick-cut aged pork cutlet. One diner singled out the chicken tempura bowl for its price as well as its appeal, while another praised the crisp coating on the tempura set meal.
The restaurant says it serves rice from Hachidaime Gihei with its bowls. A diner who tried the seafood bowl also praised the glossy rice. Someone who ordered the pork miso soup set meal remembered its large bowl of generously filled soup, particularly the substantial pieces of daikon. It also came with a small side dish, making it an option for a lunch centred on soup rather than a rice bowl.
In the evening, chicken tempura and kushikatsu—skewered, deep-fried morsels—can be shared alongside fish dishes. The chicken tempura platter is also available as a half portion of four pieces. For fish, there are sashimi platters sized to suit the group, as well as Chinese-style sea bream sashimi salad and Kyoto-style scooped yuba (tofu skin) topped with sea urchin. The restaurant says it selects seasonal fresh fish at the market and sources vegetables mainly from Kyoto.
Private rooms are available, and the restaurant is presented as suited to groups. That makes it possible to choose between a lunchtime set meal and an evening gathering according to the occasion and party size.
